Reactive Defense Matrix is a very nice defensive trinket that adds a ton of free absorption value while tanking, and a bonus low-health lifeline on a pretty short cooldown. Shard of Annhylde's Aegis is worth buying, but it’s not an ironclad #1 recommendation because it’s easy to obtain, and other items on the list are valuable and more difficult to acquire. So on the one hand, it’s literally a best-in-slot trinket, why wouldn’t you buy it? But on the other hand: It’s easy to snag, so why spend a very finite resource on it? The droprate is not bad, and The Nine is generally regarded as an extremely easy early boss. That being said, it’s pretty easy to acquire.
Shard of Annhylde's Aegis is extremely high-value, arguably the single most powerful individual piece of gear a tank can acquire in all of Shadowlands. They're your Dinars, spend them how you like. Zovastrum, the Unmaking is a far better payoff in terms of price versus performance, but Domination's Deliverance & Cruciform Veinripper slightly outperform it in pure single-target damage. More importantly, purchasing both Domination's Deliverance & Cruciform Veinripper costs two Dinars, as opposed to only one for Zovastrum, the Unmaking. This is the most efficient weapon purchase you can make, but not quite the absolute peak of performance in all situations.ĭomination's Deliverance & Cruciform Veinripper is a slightly better weapon setup in terms of single-target DPS, but the gain is relatively minor and comes at the loss of some defensive value.
